When I first learned about network marketing, I had no idea what I was doing and I made absolutely no money doing it. I quit the first company I was with because the old school methods of sponsoring didn’t work for me.

Admittedly, I didn’t try very hard because I was scared to “prospect” every person who came within 3 feet of me. I am an introvert and that model of in-your-face prospecting made me cower.

Years later, I knew that if I was ever going to change my situation from living paycheck to paycheck, the only way to do it was to look again at network marketing. I knew that network marketing was the only way that the average person with no money could build residual income and really work from home. So I started looking. When I finally decided on a company, I got all fired up and enrolled ready to break new records. Then reality set in.

The new company had lots of ideas about prospecting and how to find leads, but they weren’t any more effective than the 3-foot rule. It took a lot of time to find the needle in a haystack person to not only enroll, but also build a business. I had to spend a lot of time and money placing ads, calling leads, talking to friends and family, and generally feeling discouraged.

Then I started searching online for alternative ways to market a business. And everywhere I turned someone was claiming to have made big money by marketing online. So I started ordering their e-books and trying to find the secret key that I was missing. Although it was right in front of me, it actually took me a while to find the key I was looking for.
